FAQ
What does “unlimited” actually mean?
No fixed monthly quota: you can submit as many captures as your workers can handle. The only limit is your VM's physical capacity - roughly 640 captures per minute at normal load (6 s average render time). If you regularly saturate your workers, we add a VM.
How is this different from Shotbot Pro with a large credit balance?
With Shotbot Pro, you share workers and queue with all other Shotbot Pro clients. Priority is enhanced during peak load - but you are never alone. With Dedicated, nobody else uses your workers. Your latency depends only on your own load, never on anyone else's.
What happens during a worker update?
Updates are handled with a rolling restart: in-progress captures are completed before the worker stops. You receive an email notification. Updates are coordinated with you to avoid your peak hours.
Can I choose the worker mode?
Yes. Three modes available: API only (captures submitted via API, no callback required), callback only (only jobs with a callback URL, ideal for async pipelines), and hybrid (both, based on load). This setting is adjustable on request.
How does an additional VM work?
Each extra VM adds 64 workers to your pool and is billed separately at the same monthly rate. You can add one at any time. There is no limit on the number of VMs.
Can I start month-to-month and switch to annual later?
Yes. Start on a monthly basis to validate throughput against your real load, then switch to an annual contract (with a discount) when you're comfortable. The transition happens without any service interruption.
